Mindfulness-based Therapy

Are you looking for a therapist? I study Core Process Psychotherapy in England (karuna-institute.co.uk) and see clients as part of my training, in Helsinki (Finland) or online. My training will lead to an MA in Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapeutic Practice, and accreditation as a psychotherapist in England.

Core Process therapy offers a chance to be met, deeply listened to and received, and to contact one’s inner world together, with the support of joint presence. We stay in touch with how things appear in the present moment, for example by feeling into the body. What often opens up is also earlier experiences that still live in us and affect how we experience ourselves and the world.

Therapy may offer help and support in many kinds of situations: e.g. depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, loneliness, difficulties in relationships, painful past experiences, life transitions, getting stuck in habitual patterns, or a feeling that life does not satisfy or look like one’s own. A wish to journey deeper into oneself may also be a reason to come to therapy.

Therapy can be a place to explore what blocks connection to oneself and others, and to natural well-being and to living a full life. For example, some of our ways of being in the world, which we once needed for survival, might no longer be the most functional ones. Through therapy it is also possible gradually to contact parts of our experience that we have not been able to be present to before.

My role as a therapist is above all to be a fellow traveler, to help in pausing to be with the experience, and to support with my own presence. Directions for life are found within each person. When we are present together with what is, things can also move forward in ways that neither of us could foresee. As a therapist I also want to remember that deep within you are something other than your challenges, whatever they are.


Therapy sessions are regularly once a week 60 minutes at a time. It is possible to deepen to work in a long-term therapeutic relationship, if that feels right.

My therapy space is located in Etu-Töölö, Helsinki (MindFaculty). During the Coronavirus pandemic it is also possible to meet online, if needed.

I offer therapy as part of my training, following UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) ethical guidelines and supported by supervision.

Price is agreed individually with each client. Financial support from Kela (in the Finnish system) is not available for the therapy I offer. The first meeting is free of charge, as it is time for us both to discover whether we could work well together.

About me

I have background in the academic world and in working with people in many different ways. Over the last ten years my journey has gradually taken me more and more towards embodiment and presence, partly through diving into meditation. My studies and practice of Core Process therapy feel like a beautiful flourishing of this path and an opportunity to keep continually growing and deepening.
